Monitor plan progress and review
Project Stage
About the Project
The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) sets out a long-term, cohesive vision and approach to transportation in the Region. As the Region grows, the needs and travel patterns become more complex and pressures on the system increase. To maintain a high degree of mobility—ensuring people can travel appropriate distances while mitigating increases to travel time and cost—ongoing monitoring, management, and review of the system and the RTP are necessary. It's important to regularly communicate progress on implementing the actions of the RTP. The RTP includes a mechanism for regular progress reports (monitoring both progress and impact) and a ten-year update cycle.
Benefits
- Ensures actions in the plan are performing as expected
- Provides transparency and accountability
FROM THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION PLAN
Action 5.2.3: Complete progress reports on Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) implementation and conduct a formal review of the RTP every 10 years.
To provide greater transparency on RTP implementation regular progress reports will be published. A formal review will be conducted every 10 years to ensure the transportation system continues to meet the Region’s needs over time.
